I found myself roaming the halls of the Francis Marion in search of Charleston ghosts when I wandered into my hotel’s gift shop, The General’s Store.  I did not discover “frights,” but many delightful treats and keepsakes of my beloved Charleston.  The store has Gullah Gourmet mixes to make my favorite dishes at home, such as “Shrimp & Grits.”  Also there are scented Rewined Candles that are hand made here in Charleston that light up the night and Jack-o’-lantern’s too. Of course, you can’t go wrong bringing home a few original jewelry pieces created right here in town.   My favorite souvenirs are the Hotel’s logoed wine, champagne and shot glasses.

Dressed in my costume, I went trick or treating at The General’s Store and was offered a pack of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish.  The goldfish on the pack were dressed like the Gentleman Pirate of days gone by in Charleston.  So; “Ahoy Me’ Maties” and have a Happy Halloween!”
