The historic Francis Marion is pleased to announce the offering of a new hotel package this September. Many significant events of the Civil War that led to the transformation of our country took place in the Charleston area that is easily accessible from the hotel.

The Package includes accommodations and two tickets per night from the following choices:

**Fort Sumter National Monument: This 2 hour and 15 minute tour consists of approximately 35 minutes of narration while cruising historic Charleston Harbor, 1 hour at Fort Sumter, and then 30 minutes of continued narration on the return trip. Boats leave from Liberty Square at Aquarium Wharf daily.

**Civil War & Slavery tour by Old Charleston Walking Tours: From the first shots at Fort Sumter to the fall of Charleston, this tour covers all the key events of the war in addition to many surprising insights. Perfect for both beginners and experts. This two hour walking tour leaves from Washington Square Park daily at 10:30 am.

**The Charleston Museum: America’s First Museum, founded in 1773. The Charleston Museum’s permanent City Under Siege: Charleston in the Civil War exhibit offers a rich overview of events in and around Charleston from secession to 1865. Also, the museum has a special exhibition: Blasted: Assorted Projectiles and Explosives of the Civil War. Open Mon-Sat 9am-5pm; Sun 1pm-5pm

**Gibbes Museum of Art: Photography and the American Civil War is organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This landmark exhibition brings together more than 200 of the finest and most poignant photographs of the American Civil War. This camera recording from beginning to end tells the story of the heartbreaking narrative of the epic four-year war, in which 750,000 lives were lost. From haunting battlefield landscapes strewn with bodies, to languorous camp scenes showing exhausted troops in repose; this exhibit features groundbreaking works by noted photographers of the day. This choice includes a 10% discount at the Gibbes Museum Shop. Opens at 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday and 1pm-5pm on Sunday.

The Francis Marion Hotel, located in the historic district of Charleston, is a member of the Historic Hotels of America and is listed in the National Register for Historic Places.
